ABOUT ME

Health and healing are predicated upon connection and calibration - whether we consider the systems of the body, mind and spirit, or of the individual, community and world. Chinese medicine offers a perspective through which to view and understand connections within the body, with strategies to sustain health or instigate change and initiate a healing process.

The “bridge” in the name of this office practice evokes this concept of connection, and in particular through conversation and in the health care experience that aims to connect the patient to a pathway of healing and recovery. These connections and calibration through a variety of Chinese medicine modalities (including but not limited to acupuncture) can treat a broad range of conditions, and the focus of this practice includes pain management, trauma recovery, health maintenance and family medicine.

Donna M. Mah, L.Ac., is licensed to practice Acupuncture in the State of New York and is nationally board certified in Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).  She holds a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, and a Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine - both awarded by the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. Donna earned a Master of Social Work from Fordham University to advance understanding of human systems and organizations, and holds certification in Crisis & Resilience, and Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Counseling.

Donna is on faculty at Pacific College of Health and Science (formerly Pacific College of Oriental Medicine) and New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She is a Research Acupuncturist, participating in studies that deliver acupuncture to treat chronic pain in underserved communities and specializes in the integration of research methods and acupuncture delivery within clinical healthcare systems. Through wellness programs and in her faculty role in Chinese medicine and Integrative healthcare, she works to connect Chinese medicine principles and philosophy to the health and healing processes of individuals, families, organizations and communities.

Donna served as Guest Curator to the Museum of Chinese in America’s 2018 exhibit “Chinese Medicine in America: Converging Ideas, People and Practices.” Through a series of twelve narrative arcs that were punctuated by art and artifacts, the exhibit was designed to explore Chinese medicine through the historical, philosophical and clinical lenses of its ancient origins and modern expression. This project codified a unique approach that weaves history, philosophy, art and verse into story - through which we can each connect in our healing journey.
